HOW TO CHECK YOUR IELTS STRUCTURE

If you want a high score in IELTS writing, the most important thing you can do is make sure your structure is in right. In this class, I'm going to show you how to use a simple checklist to understand the strengths and weaknesses of your writing. Once you know what mistakes you are making, you can start to improve.

We're going to get started by looking at one of the most valuable tools on our whole website. It's a checklist you can use to check the structure of your IELTS part two essays. While it's important to learn about good structure and get feedback, checking your own essays can really help knowledge 'stick'. Check out the video above to find out how to use the checklist.

Once you've watched the video, I recommend you follow these steps:

  1. Write an IELTS part two essay or find one that you've already written.
  2. Download the checklist or use the online version below. Check the boxes of the things you did successfully.
  3. Go back and rewrite your essay so that it meets more of the checklist items.

You can also check out the video for a run-through of how to use the checklist. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to get in touch by leaving a comment.
